The European triathlon calendar for 2024 is starting to take shape. Europe Triathlon recently confirmed the opening salvo of events, including the schedule for the European Cups and European Junior Cups as well as the European Super Sprint Championships.
The Super Sprint event will be returning to Balikesir, Turkey, in August. Earlier this year, the 2023 event took place in the same city with Ricardo Batista and Mathilde Gautier coming away with the wins.
In 2024, Balikesir will host the European Super Sprint Championships between 9-11 August. It will also take on the European Junior Championships as well as the Mixed Team Relay event.
On the European Cup front, a bumper schedule has been announced with thirteen races currently on the radar. As things stand, the opening event in Quarteira, Portugal, is the only Olympic distance race on the schedule.

At the end of the season, Ceuta and Alanya will likewise host events. Both saw dramatic races in October and the organisers will hope for more of the same next year.
Notably, the events in Caorle and Olsztyn will clash with WTCS Yokohama and WTCS Cagliari, respectively. The Cork European Cup also falls upon the same weekend as WTCS Hamburg.
As things stand, though, the only World Cup to clash with a European Cup will be the Brasilia event on 26/27 October which falls on the same weekend as the Alanya European Cup.
